In a gripping MLS Next Pro Cup final at Sports Illustrated Stadium, Red Bulls II and Colorado Rapids II battled through a tense, back-and-forth match that showcased the promise of young talent rising through the ranks. Colorado came out strong, with Billo Diop scoring in the 34th minute to put his side ahead. Just before halftime, James Cameron extended Colorado’s lead to 2-0, leaving Red Bulls II with a lot of work to do in the second half.

But Red Bulls II showed their resilience. Rafael Mosquera pulled one back in the 65th minute, and just two minutes later, Roald Mitchell scored to bring the game level at 2-2. The momentum had shifted in favor of the Red Bulls, but Colorado quickly regained the advantage when Antony Garcia scored in the 78th minute, making it 3-2. Despite the setback, Red Bulls II continued to press forward. In the 81st minute, Mosquera converted a penalty kick after Nate Worth was fouled in the box, drawing the game level again at 3-3 and sending it to extra time.

Neither side found the back of the net during 30 minutes of extra time, which meant the match would be decided by penalties. In the shootout, Austin Causey came up huge for Red Bulls II, making a crucial save in the last penalty kick that ultimately secured the championship for his team. The victory was a testament to the strength of youth development, as the match was defined by standout performances from young players, proving that the future of soccer in the region is in good hands.
